A Christian Heritage Person of Canada is a federal political party in Canada.
This social conservative party held its founding convention inside Hamilton, Ontario in November 1987, where Ed Vanwoudenberg was elected its first leader. Ron Gray has been the person's leader since 1995.
A person nominated candidates first in the 1988 federal election, and ran numerous candidates in the 1993 and 1997 elections. It was unable to field L candidates in the 2000 election and was consequently deregistered by Elections Canada, the government elections professional. A person was re-registered eventually for the 2004 election.
Numerous of its founders got been members of Social Credit. A person's expressed goal is to "apply proven Judeo-Christian principles of justice and compassion to Canada's contemporary public policy needs".¹ A person claims that it tries to represent whole Christians within Canada, but that it acknowledge numerous Christians come members of more parties, & it specifically deny any interest in converting Canadians to Christianity. It is, by expressed information in their policy book, Canada's simply pro-life federal political party, & emphasize that a Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms acknowledges "God" (around their interpretation meaning the Judeo-Christian God) in its preamble. More policies include stem opposition to same sex marriage and a subsidy for parents raising babies, to encourage 1 parent to stay home like than working. A person is similar to the US Constitution Party.
Electoral activity
A person did non develop official status for the 2000 election, however 46 candidates were nominated, used on the ballot while forgoing any affiliation trading tools. These numbers represent a 46 "non-affiliated" candidates known to become candidate of the CHP.
